Prostate Volume Calculator

Calculate prostate volume using the ellipsoid formula from ultrasound or MRI measurements

Prostate Measurements
AP (Anteroposterior) = Length | CC (Craniocaudal) = Height | Transverse = Width
PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen)
ng/mL
ng/mL/cc

Normal Prostate Volume by Age

  • 20-30 years: 15-20 cc
  • 30-40 years: 18-22 cc
  • 40-50 years: 20-25 cc
  • 50-60 years: 25-35 cc
  • 60-70 years: 30-45 cc
  • 70+ years: 35-55 cc

PSA Levels & Interpretation

  • 0-2.5 ng/mL: Normal
  • 2.6-4.0 ng/mL: Borderline
  • 4.0-10.0 ng/mL: Elevated
  • >10.0 ng/mL: High

PSA Density

  • <0.15: Lower risk of cancer
  • 0.15-0.20: Intermediate risk
  • >0.20: Higher risk, consider biopsy

Formula

  • Ellipsoid Volume: π/6 × L × H × W
  • Weight: Volume × 1.05 g/cc
  • PSA Density: PSA / Volume
  • Standard prostate density ≈ 1.05 g/mL
