ERA Formula
ERA = (Earned Runs × 9) ÷ Innings Pitched
Example: 45 ER × 9 = 405 ÷ 100 IP = 4.05 ERA
ERA represents the average number of earned runs a pitcher would allow over 9 innings.
What is a Good ERA?
- Sub-3.00: Elite (Ace level)
- 3.00-3.50: Excellent
- 3.50-4.00: Above Average
- 4.00-4.50: League Average
- 4.50-5.00: Below Average
- 5.00+: Poor
